Meet Kathe

About Kathe Mickunas
Kathe Mickunas in her Maine garden with verbena bonariensis and lots of bees.

Kathe Mickunas has been around gardens and art her entire life. From early attempts with petunias and marigolds in her childhood home in Iowa, to later cultivation of several acres of heirloom and native flowers raised organically at Passionflower Farm on the coast of Maine. Her curiosity, delight and wonder over everything in the natural world has sustained her lifelong love of growing things and expressions of beauty with flowers and paint.

The discovery of horticultural therapy as a healing tool for supporting wellbeing for others has become her passion. Bringing a lifetime of plant knowledge she creates playful plant experiences for those looking for a natural way to support their emotional, cognitive, physical, social and mental wellness.

As a complimentary offering, she guides painting explorations for nourishing our soul’s desire for creative expression. The calming effect of being in the flow with paint or plants soothes our nervous system and uplifts our moods. And it’s fun. Everyone has an inner artist or green thumb when given the tools and gentle support to explore.
